Ariel Shallit loves all things beautiful; art, music and words. After the jump is an original poem he wrote to accompany his painting.
She chose her path and never looked back.
Feeling the wind on her face, anointing her with faint drizzle,
she welcomed the life ahead.
The moon gave much,
and together with the sun’s bounty
she had everything.
She had petals and fruit,
leaves and wood.
Rainwater for her lips and throat,
the wild gardens with their inhabitants for her soul.
She had more than she ever dreamed.
Discarding the illusion of permanence,
the emptiness of possession, and with a passion never felt for another soul,
she embraced the world of her choice.
